a days work at Tuena
Happy New Year Everyone.
Bob went to Tuena on Friday just for the day, his intention was to bring back buckets of clay to wash at our daughter's place on Saturday. He brought home 16 in total & won .6 gr of nice gold for his effort. Not a lot but he just wanted to see how the clay produced. One nice little clunker & it was enough to lure as back later this week. There are lots of campers out there for the holidays & the little village is buzzing. Happy fossicking in 2012.

A DAYS WORK AT TUENA
Hello franmar, nice work. Great clunker too. I took my father there once for a few hours. We only managed several specks using a mini concentrator. As we arrived late in the day I was not sure where to go etc. obviously location, location, location don't only apply to real estate.
Was there enough water to use a sluice?

Re: a days work at Tuena
Hi Geoff not sure about the sluice. I didn't go & Bob brought the clay home to wash. We are heading out today so he must have thought there would be enough water to wash out there. He is not here at present for me to ask. You can usually find a hole to pump out of but I don't know about a river sluice.
If you live in Bathurst you are in the best spot for fossicking anyway! Why go anywhere else. Bob was born in Bathurst & we did a lot of fossicking there in our younger days. We were at the Turon a little while ago & it gave good results. See you at Tuena sometime maybe.
