Bottom Section Of Your Hip Stick
G-Day to You All
I was just wondering if anybody had any idea were I can buy the bottom section of the hip stick that clips onto your belt. I tried Bunning’s but they had nothing there. I don’t know if they’ve stopped selling them because I’ve tried two Bunning’s outlets.
Thank you Have a Good Day From Young TuT

Re: Bottom Section Of Your Hip Stick
I'm surprised that the can be broken in normal use, seem like the D ring or clip would fail first.
Tell you what Tut, I'll send you a free replacement if you send me the broken ones, I love to see them.
BTW I'm the manufacture of the hipstick.
Oh and I'll even replace it if you bought (ebay) it from that thieving snake snottygobble (who stole my IP and product name) and is selling cheep counterfeit copies.

G/Day Fellow Prospectors
Thank you for the offer Detectoraid but I’ve ordered three bigg lugg belt clips from Amazon.Com they are in the tools and Hardware section. They should last me as long as I remember to unclip before digging the hole. They fracture just below were the ball fits into the socket its when im kneeling while digging. It jams on the top of my leg and that’s when the fracture happens. I buy all my Prospecting gear from Reeds Prospecting, Perth, WA they are really reliable and quick in posting your stuff out. Or JP for my back up B&Z Enhancer’s I never use eBay much only when I sold my Minelab 3500.
Don’t forget to have a great day

worn out hip stick ball
Great invention the hipstick, but Ive purchased 2 in the last year or so and the ball seems to wear out rather quickly. When you're paying $65 a pop you would expect them to last longer. My issue now is trying to find somewhere that I can purchase a hard wearing ball and perhaps a rod that can easily fit together. Seems a waste to buy a whole new hip stick when only the ball is faulty.

Re: Bottom Section Of Your Hip Stick
maybe a bit of lube....graphite powder, vaseline will help it last longer.

worn out hipstick ball
I had the ball wear out whilst out bush and to fix I got my soldering iron with the heater on it. Heated across the back of the clip just under where the ball holder sits slowly until the plastic was soft. Then I bent the clip right angles to bring it under the ball holder and let it cool. This stopped the worn ball from falling through and is still working a treat. It took a little bit of effort to put on the standard minelab belt but got me detecting with the hipstick again.
