Mine Lab 15x12 Semi Ellip Mono versus Nugget Finder 17x11 Ellip Mono for Depth
G-Day To You All
I was just wondering what coil Is better for depth between the Mine Lab 15x12 Inch Semi Elliptical Mono and the Nugget Finder 17x11 Inch Mono I’m swapping between both of them at the minute when I’m going through spinifex type areas up here In the Pilbara
Thank you Young TuT

I have both these coils and found the Commander will go slightly deeper on 3g and up , and the NF has the edge on the tiny bits .
I find the Commander is better for gridding in bushy / sticky country , but the NF better for open areas because of its coverage .
The width of the coils is the clue to their depth , as in that dept they perform similar to a round coil of that size.
Cheers

G-Day DB
Thank you for the reply you sent you are right the 15x12 Mine Lab Semi Elliptical Mono has found me my larger nuggets at depth. I’ve never found any large nuggets with my 17x11 Nugget Finder Elliptical Mono coil only bits up to about four grams. The extra weight of the Mine lab coil does not bother me with my the hip stick I feel more settled with It while doing large Spinifex area’s
Thank you have a great day DB from Young TuT

Thinkin to buy 18" Coiltek mono round for deep
Hi DB,
I am using 17x11 Nugget Finder Elliptical Mono coil with GPX5000 nearly 6 months. I am happy with the quietness and smaller target. I found recently the biggest one is 9.4 gms with my coil. I want to more deep to catch the bigger nugget. So, which coil will be the best for me to buy? whether 18" Coiltek mono round or 18" NF mono round? My choice will be the one amongst those two. Can you suggest me please?
Cheer,

Hi bhante. I have not used either the 18" coiltek or 18 NF but both would have very similar depth to the 18" Commander I have used.
Any of the 18' round coils will go deeper than the 17 x 11 NF ( on larger nuggets. )
I also found my 15 x 12 commander had a small advantage in depth over the 17 x 11.

If any of you can pick the difference in performance you are a better man than me.
