Goldfields of Heathcote Vic.
Hi Guys I have got to go over to Heathcote tomorrow to meet my Daughter in the afternoon, how is heading back to NSW, so I thought it would be a good chance to have a detect in the morning around the area, but never hitting this place before, I'm not quiet sure were to go, so I was hoping if someone may be able to short cut my research by give me a few places to try. Re: Goldfields of Heathcote Vic.
If you have the Doug Stone map it will help for Heathcote, not sure on any restricted area that is no go?
I have heard Doug Stone use to do day field trips to the field as he liked it as a detecting location!
I think if you go to the gullies with diggings you stand a chance as gold tends to be about up there.
I know of quite a few smaller nuggets around a gram being found in many of the gullies, the bush and undergrowth are quite open!
As its getting hotter i would keep an eye for snakes though!
I found my best Quartz crystal on a 4wd track at Heathcote around 25 years ago!
