Re: Ahhhh Them Where The Days....
G'day Gents.
Even though I don't exactly like talking about it,now that Pete and Robert brought up the subject,10 years or so back swinging a 2200 about a 1klm away from the Tarnagulla cemetery, I managed to hit the jackpot. Not one token but 2. I got excited with the first mellow signal at about 8 inches down to find the words on an aluminum strip(about 2 inches long and 1 cm wide) "Sucker" and if that wasn't enough,30 meters further down another good mellow signal at about 10 inches deep with the word you guessed it "Di**head". That was enough prospecting for me for the rest of the arvo.Spent the rest of the afternoon sharpening my pick, thinking about the culprit who buried them there.
Cheers guys kon61.

Re: Ahhhh Them Where The Days....
I rememberdetecting with my Dad about 30-35 years ago.... It was exciting, every signal had to be gold, but sadly, none of it was.
I remember the detector had a metalic blue box, a red button on the handle & took 16 x AA batteries. Funny thing is I dont remember it being heavy.

G'day Rob.
Sounds like one of the earlier Whites VLF detectors.
Cheers kon61.
