14" x 7" NFA & 11" Commander Round
Gidday all ,
Would just like to post up a comparison test we did yesterday ( 5-11-2011 ) ...
Picked up a nice clear signal with the 14 x 7 & before digging it out i called over Manny to put the 11" Mono over it -
We both run 4500`s & after adjusting his detector to the same settings as mine he put the coil over the signal -
No response - scrubbed it over the signal & still no response ( or not defined enough to make you dig it up ).
I know that the ellipticals are a bit more responsive to small bits - The funny thing is that Manny had pulled a piece the same size as this one ( 0.1 grams ) a week earlier from approx the same depth ( 1" ) ...
Now i am not saying that the 14x7 is better than the 11 round at all ...
Just was a bit dumbfounded that the 11 had no response to it .
Cheers

Bit suprised myself, as I thought the ground my 0.1g came out of was a lot noiser ( mineralised ) than yesterdays area.
Overhead power lines in the distance might explain some of it, slightly bigger coil more interference.
Still it showed how a small elliptical doesn't leave anything behind were an 11" round might.

why did you test the signal with your mate changing his settings to match yours. wouldn't a better test be running each machine on their optimal settings for the coil they were running.

We did. Ran the 11" over the target on my usual settings before I started fiddling with different settings or matching the settings on Glen's machine.

Hey no problemo's fella's ay
There's gonna be nuthin left for the rest of vic to find
the way you two blokes are smashin it, well done on them bits.
Just a thought here, but maybe the recent burnoff made the ground a tad
weird, what with the carbon and the alkalinity, it could produce a change in
performance tween the 2 coils.
Also was the 11" mono a recent one or an older 45000 released one, cause there's a lot of
blokes feel the one that comes with the 5000 has been tweeked a bit ??
