Anyone detected the Wonnangatta Valley??
Will be heading there in May for a week long hunt and figure I may as well take my detector as well. Has there been any finds in that area??

Re: Anyone detected the Wonnangatta Valley??
The Wonnagatta Valley falls over two National Parks! Prospecting is strictly prohibited in Both and the law is enforced by the local authorities!
I do not think much gold has ever been found in the Wonnagatta Valley?
Gold was found near by in the Crooked River which is outside of the National Park, it is probably not ideal for detecting though as the gold is in deep alluvial deposits rather than
shallow surface deposits like the golden triangle!
For coins and relics i have found the Eastern mountain goldfields quite poor?
On a positive note the scenery is spectacular!
