VLF machines and Mono Coils
Does anyone know if you can put a mono coil on a VLF machine, or is there a VLF on the market that comes with a mono coil?

Re: VLF machines and Mono Coils
G'day Kiloz.
The answer to your question is NO. VLFs come out with either a concentric design meaning 2 transmit windings (one within the other) and one receive winding. This configuration offers the best possible sensitivity and pinpointing characteristics(specifically used for coin/relic hunting) than a mono coil of similar size, but suffers drastically (noise and depth wise) over mineralized soils (hot ground) or salty environments. The other coil is that in the form of a DD winding specifically made to handle hot ground,or should I say run smoother and quieter over mineralized ground, but at the cost of some sensitivity and depth.
