Re: Buckland River
Why I ask
I was looking at the DPI Database at the Extreme high reading of Panned samples in that area and some are as high as 95,000 PPB per pan
I also could see that there was alot of a Hist leases that had been there over a 100 years back and with all the good rain we have had in the last two years these rivers must be once again just full of new gold Au.
Just have a look at these two locations the first set of numbers are the DPI site ID number

Re: Buckland River
One more
Would have to be worth a look. I am sure James would have spent some time in the area at some time and could give you a better inside to what it like.
Better get a Forum camp out there

Re: Buckland River
G'day Detrackozi,Interesting river the Buckland with huge amounts of workings for miles and miles. They really turned the place upside down up there. There are great chasms everywhere on the alluvial flats and many areas of rock piles on both sides of the river. Many of the tributaries running into the river on the west were obviously worked and I would imagine the same would be true on the east side.Vegetation, including blackberries ,is a curse in many places.I managed to pan a couple of the tributaries without even turning a speck. But with very little available testing time on our one day trip,it was difficult to do justice to the area. The water is magnificent up there at the moment, clear, cool and sweet.I came across numerous small trout, which remained pretty relaxed even in my presence. It was just a joy to see.I wish I had a decent HD video cam to record such stuff.
I'm sure if you spent enough time in the area you would be able to get onto some gold. Those big floods last summer, for sure ,would have dislodged gold into the stream. Cheers for now,Trev.
