Re: JACK LANGE ENERGY SHAFT
Hi guys,
I recently bought the Jack Lange shaft from fleebay. I used it for a total of about 20 minutes and will try and give an account of my experience.
Firstly let me start by saying I know I didn't use the shaft for a long time and I know I didn't give it a fair go, but frankly I wasn't totally sold on the device.
I had been using the hipstick all morning, and then I decided to try out the shaft to compare it using my SD2200d with a Coiltek 14"DD coil. I found that because the pivot point on the shaft is lower on my body compared to the much higher pivot point of the hipstick, I had to stretch out the bungee much more when using the shaft so I found that my sweeps were not as big as when using the hipstick. If I tried to increase the sweeps, the bungee needed to be stretched more, adding "soreness" to my arm. I handled this for about 20 minutes of this before going back to the hipstick.
I did not test it with my 25"DD coil where I believe the weight of the coil will probably give it an advantage over the hipstick, but that's a test that I'll perform soon. I also found that it was somewhat annoying to remove the inner shaft and undo the bungee whenever I had to dig a target.
Let me just re say that these are my results and my opinions in the limited time I used it and I would love to hear the results from other members that have used the shaft as compared to the regular hipstick.

Re: JACK LANGE ENERGY SHAFT
I've had a look at these devices but to borrow a line from a movie "grow stronger". You will be amazed what a little bit of strength exercise for your arms will achieve. I use 2 beach cricket balls, squeeze the hell out of them for a couple of weeks, I don't have to change arms to swing as often as I used to do. And I hate to exercise but it helped.

Re: JACK LANGE ENERGY SHAFT
Bullet, I agree with you that "growing stronger" is a good thing, but my conclusion from my brief test was that I needed much more strength, especially when swinging to the right whilst opening my arm than I needed with the hipstick. In fact, and I hate to say it, I looked forward to getting back swinging my 14"DD using the hipstick, over the shaft. I have used the 25"DD with the hipstick before and it struggled to cope with the weight (& it's a heavy duty bungee), maybe the shaft will perform better with the heavier load...time will tell.

Re: JACK LANGE ENERGY SHAFT
G'day Costas,
It always comes down to personal choice. If you feel better using the device, then go for it. I won't argue against it or I'll try not too. It always comes down to user comfort and when ya swinging big coils, yes you are correct. Even with a heavy bungee, you will get tired arms and shoulders but I'll stay with my cricket balls, I feel better after a few weeks of squeezing.
Happy swinging dude

PS. go get the gold

Re: JACK LANGE ENERGY SHAFT
Forgot to say, I get sore in what they call the deltoid muscle but I have found with some arm exercise, I don't feel as bad as it used to be. Just my opinion and what I do to make it easier for me.
I use a light bungy cord but age is taking over and it's time for a heavy cord. I'll keep up with the exercise and playing with my balls, cricket balls that is.

Re: JACK LANGE ENERGY SHAFT
The way I see it, if you have a problem with the weight of the coil etc. pulling on your shoulder, use a hipstick to transfer the weight to your belt/hip. If however, you have problems with the side to side movement of the swing then perhaps the Jack Lange thingy will do the trick. Maybe there is a call for something sort of in between the two also.

Re: JACK LANGE ENERGY SHAFT
I bought a Hipstick a few weeks ago and used it last weekend. I dont normally use a bungy, but I thought I would give it a go when I used a 24 inch Coil. If it saved energy,it would have to be a plus.
To be Honest,I didnt think it saved Energy at all. It extends your arm out much further than if you were swinging without a Bungy, and your Muscles arent as efficient when in this fully extended position.
I found myself getting tired after only 2 hrs, where, with the standard Bungy set-up,I never had a problem.
The only way I could see to counter this problem would be to mount the bungy between the handle and the control box.
Also,if you normally dig 100 + Junk targets a day,the time wasted un-clipping and re-clipping the stick will cut down your target tally drastically.
JMHO for what its worth.

I tried to be nice but
I bought one the first thing to break was we're a small screw was attaching the shaft to the plate , four twigs and electrical tape fixed that and the straw that broke the camels back was the top prong in the female connection that locked the belt together , snapped due to inferior plastic. Sent a message reporting this to Mr Lang or bushguecko and no response. Also purchased a second larger coil for my gold bud pro it was crap returned no probs recieve another and it's crap to.Thought I would send this to you one more time before I put it in the publics eye, your call mate!he didn't give a though to this so here it is!.This was a pm twice to bush gecko !.
