Re: Kalgoorlie or coolgardie ? dunno were to go
Hi
I think Coolgardie.
I heard a bloke got so sick of picking up gold he left the rest there.
I got the exact location from a guy who sold me a map at the Pub.
I said you have got to be joking and he gave me a wink and said “would I lie to you”
So I handed over a poultry $500.00 for this great map.
The top corner had Lasseter’s lost reef but I wasn’t interested in that I want the big stuff.
So armed with my map I will pick up gold from the spot the guy at the pub said no one else knows about.
Boy what a sucker to give me this location I will never tell anyone this spot it is my secret spot.
Regards Neale

Welcome to the forum mate.
Firstly there is some very good gold still being found at coolgardie, there is plenty of
"pending" ground so permission to prospect is not needed at all as long as you have
a WA miners right $25 for life, this enables you to prospect on all pastoral/crown land
abandond leases, cancelled leases and pending leases without permission from anyone at all.
You are hiring very good detectors thats for sure mate so i would be asking the mob you
hire from for some personal tuition and some hints and tips at where to start your search,
if that crew know their stuff they should have already helped you with that type of info and
if they arnt prepared to do so i for one would never hand over another cent to them,
also you will do better if the hires are fitted with 11" mono coils than standard DD coils..
Also i suggest you give the people at the coolgardie mines dept a call on (08) 9026 7931 as they
are very helpful to have a chat to on areas to try etc.
You might also want to join the "coolgardie gem & mineral club"
http://myweb.westnet.com.au/ausgold1/
They cost $20 per yr from memory and have permission to go onto heaps
of good leases out cooly way....

Re: Kalgoorlie or coolgardie ? dunno were to go
G'day people
Topic revive if anyone got some suggestions.
I'm heading to Kal for a week in August with my teenage son to show him around and try our luck. Got the miners right, detector, understand the rules but not sure where to try. Any suggestions appreciated. Will be visiting mines office to ask as well. Cheers in advance for any help.
