Coils for the extreme
Hi Guys,
I have a simple question. What would you guys consider the most all-round (and I use the term loosley) coil as the unit we're buying comes with the 11" DD searchcoil. Being in Ballarat, I can expect heavy mineralisation in the area and am trying to get my head around all the info about the different coils.
I guess the question is what do you guys use most around these parts and in short, why?
Cheers,
Nature Pete.
Somehow I feel that this may be a lerge can of worms I opening here ...

Re: Coils for the extreme
The coiltek 14"DD pro was an excellent match to this detector, notably quiet with good depth.

Re: Coils for the extreme
G'day Pete.
Here goes my opinion.I found that the tan 14 inch round Coiltek Elite Pro DD coil is a good match to the Gp series machines as is the Commander 15x12 DD (as standard general purpose coils) especially if your going to be working in Hot ground.
Cheers kon61.

I used a Coiltek 14x9 mono coil. ran smooth and found gold.

Re: Coils for the extreme
I am using GP extreme, and my go-to coil is an 11 inch commander mono.
but i also used 14 DD pro "elite". On a test patch it performed beter in a mono mode than in native DD, so i mostly don't use it anymore.
Anyway, consider using a medium mono. My pick would be 14" NFA or 15x12 Commander from Minelab.
If you really must have a DD i would go with 15x12 Minelab DD.
Thats right, i only figured that out after i got the 14" coiltek one.
