Fifield NSW Empty Fifield NSW

I was just wondering if anyone has tried detecting in the Fifield, Tullamore area's?

There's lots of info on the big companies and reefs but not much at all on small scale prospecting.

Hi Dicko

How's it going mate, I know a couple of blokes that have detected some gold out there awhile back. There was also Platinium nugetts out there as well.

But that area is now under a mining lease and there is an opperating mine out there in that area now, apparently covers the alluvial areas that were detectable.............bugger Sad

cheers dave

Hi Dicko,
I spent a day at fifield 12 months ago. The mines weren't working while I was there or I would have stopped to have a chat. They are getting platinum nuggets from the wash in old creek beds down underground. They say that the nuggets havent travelled very far,so it is a mystery as to where they originated. I spent time in the common just out of town without any luck. There are quite a lot of diggings to the north of town, I dont know to much of the history as to wether nuggets were found there or not. Further out of town on the way to Tullamore the ground turns very red,it reminded me of W.A. If your out that way its probably worth a try. I will go back again one day.
All the best,
Colin.
