your best for 1 day

hey guys, i thought i would put a post up just to see what is your best haul of gold is in oneday (how many bits) ..... my best haul is 14 on saturday just gone...

My best day was 2 small patches , 23 bits for a total of about 12 grams. It was great fun. 3 of us were working one of these patchs and the record was 1 minute to find, dig and locate a bit.
I remember reading in GG&T a few years ago of one bloke in WA who got something like 300 bits before lunch.
More recently my "patches" are smaller 3 or 4 bits and thats it. It would be interesting to hear what most people consider to be a patch, eg 3 bits or 10 bits.

28 bits higher up the creek bank in what looked like one solid smoothend wall of slate where no one would ever think of swinging a coil on,for there were no visible cracks or crevices,just bare bummed smooth slate.28 bits ranging from 0.3gms to 1.3gms in a hole measuring 5x4 inches deep.The ground or should I say rock cover was that hard,that it took a bit over 2hrs chipping away to remove the lot.Total gold weight 31.4 gms.Talk about small pockets of gold.

Best day was 3 gold rings,1 engagement with an emerald and some diamonds+a matching band 18k and a 21grm mans 18k.Best nuggets 38 for 20grms in one day back in 90's

The best for me 14 nugs . A couple of times the first target of the day was Gold..also have got gold in less the a minute after putting coil to ground...

Kingfish. Do you work the shallow water? My best day in the water was 12 gold rings & other stuff. Wish I knew how to post photo's . One day in winter I had a good day in the water with 3oz of gold in 2hrs braclets & rings 9ct to 18ct but can't remember how meny rings. Had a good day today in central Vic. with 2 nuggets 3gm & .2gr also got 7.7gr spec.on Sat.

Yes the low tide is great after some good seas,though some good stuff has turned up in the oddest places.On two occasions at Barrack height and North beach Wollongong only rocks were left after big seas,found hundreds of 1 and 2 cent coins only and an antique white gold ring which mum has proudly worn for the last 10 years.Did also find some old watches.

my best day (3hrs) well it was winter and cold water up to the jewels!! was 10 grms washed (i dont detect these days) just a pocket but not finished as i was interrupted by a person who was very interested in the spot i was digging the hole ,in water, was nearly long shovel deep and i wasn't on bottom ! so i refilled the hole with my washed stone ,much to this blokes dismay and said ill be back but if you want it just dig it all out that's not a problem with me !! I waved him good bye as he trudged off shaking his head

My best is 52 bits in a day last winter in the N.T. All small and from memory about 20gms total.
Best total weight for a day is in the pic!

less about 30 grams for dirt and quartz.

Thanks Two Bob and Ararat. Been at it for 21 years on and off. Switching between gold and gem hunting in ones spare time. The big piece made it to the cover of the GG&T mago last September! Deos this mean I've now made it as a prospector?

Hi guys, My best day for numbers of litte nuggets was september last year. 23 bits of gold for a total of 10.82 grams



My next best day was 16 bits for only 3.46 grams. Then 15 bits for 3.5 grams. Then 14 bits for 6.86 grams. Then 2 days of 13 bits. 4.59 grams on one of those days & 4.14 on the other. 2 days of 12 little bits, 5.75 & 4.96.
My best day for weight of gold so far has been 10 pieces in 4 hours for a total of 26.11 grams.
