re best finds to date
Gday, thanks stoppsy and zacaboy
The two heaviest solids in the pic were found in the same area only about 10m apart. Incidentally my friend Mal found a 104g slug in the same area, so its needless to say i'll be returning there with an 18" round coil this season!! And the speccie was found quite deep into the side of an untouched mullock heap (no visible dig holes or disturbance) not far from Sandstone. Best of Luck to everyone on the upcoming Season Cheers evan

Re: My best finds to date
nice one evan2010, looks like the 5c piece has received a bit of a battering, dropped one of your big nugs on it? What's your setup and what depth did you ping 'em at?

best finds to date
This is the type of ground I cant wait to get back to as over 300 grams was pulled from there by myself and others. This is my friend Mal with the 104 gram beauty he found on the patch
It took him well over an hour to free it from the calcrete and whilst he took a break to recover I offered to fill in the hole for him. I did the routine recheck for anymore signals both in the hole and around it and bugger me if I didnt hear a faint signal about a metre from the hole!! I scraped away some dirt and the signal brightened up so I was into it with the pick. I hit the hard as hell calcrete about 8" down so out came my estwing and mallet and after about 30-40mins after chipping away at it This popped out.
It was a lot dirtier than this ofcourse but after a good clean it weighs 26 grams. None of us had a coil larger than Mal's 17" NF Elliptical so my plan is to redect the whole area again very slowly with an 18" coil.
Cheers Evan
