I for two are happy with my link Tech modded detector, there is plenty to read as this has all been said before, the key word to your question is HAD and common sense would think those who have know more on this subject than those who haven't.

I see that my post (though it was but two lines in length) was deleted.
It was on topic and non-inflammatory.

The modders are making impossible claims. In some instances, the claims on their website are outright false.
People using modded detectors have usually never used the same machine in it's unmodded state and therefore have NO ability to gauge any difference in performance.

If this website censors critical comments on the subject at hand, then it no longer serves a useful purpose for anyone other than those promoting their wares or services. You might as well start running paid advertising for Long Range Locators while you're at it.
Either way, this is sad and disgusting.

-------------------------

Note: We will censor critical comments which we consider inflammatory, (which this was. ) The topics was on the views of modified detectors which you did not discuss, rather just put the writer down for bringing the matter up.
And you are right, your comment on Long Range Locators reflects on you and is in very poor taste.

Jeff

-------------------------

I stand by my original comment Jeff and I worded my reply carefully before posting it. And I did not put down the writer by making this statement. But this is your site to run as you wish and obviously you have the right to censor it if you please. But we know LRLs are a scam and we also know that numerous Modders have been associate with similar charges.
To answer the original poster, I've had three people offer to sell me modded detectors that were recent models (not an SD but a GP Extreme and two GPXs) and I passed on all three offers. They were angry and confused although one said to me that he was selling it because it didn't work as it ought to and the modder refused to switch it back to it's original factory settings. The manufacturer refused to consider servicing one of these detectors when I asked. This speaks volumes for the matter on hand.

Hmmm, Hi,
What else is also interesting is that only two people have answered the original question by Red Devil, well done MS & Greg. Rather than hi-jacking a thread good people why not start a new topic on the subject so that old mate can get the answers he seeks.

Cheers
