I thought the meaning of the word "politics" was split into 2 words, "Poli" meaning "Many" and "Tics" meaning "Blood sucking creatures" affraid

I dont know what the follies are so worried about.I have noticed lateley around the big smoke that the people who for what ever reason choose to walk have dicsovered that if they walk out infront of you but dont look directly at you then they cannot be struck by your vehicle and no possible harm can come to them!! This being the case we should keep the bullbars and put blinkers on anything that walks which would bring them into line with the follietcians. Problem solved Shocked

Cheers and happy hunting Sawggy

Yeah, and then there are the other clouns (usually women)who march down the footpath not even looking at the road and then when they get directly opposite the crossing they do a military type turn and step straight onto the crossing no matter what is approching on the road and then shout at you something like " YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO GIVE WAY TO PEDESTRIANS" when you have to slam the brakes on after they have just launched themselves into your direct line of travel. Sure motorists have to give way to pedestrians but the onus is on them not to step irresponsibly directly into the path of an oncoming vehicle. It is a bloody lot easier for a pedestrian to stop and look before deciding to cross the road than it is for the motorist to stop suddenly when these turkeys jump out in front of you. Even if a pedestrian gets hit by a car at just 5 or 10 kph bones are going to break. I read about a bloke who fell 30cm headfirst from a standstill and broke his neck.

The 40 k limit at school crossings is not to prevent injury to a kid who might get hit at that speed; The limit is to allow motorist time to react and stop or take evasive action when a child makes a sudden silly decision to cross the road when it is not safe. Anybody who gets hit by a car or truck or bus at 40 kph is going to get mangled.

Either you are prone to huge exaggeration about the actions of Canberra drivers......or........you have simply verified what most of us already know about the capital...........It's full of arseholes

Come now, How many people have you really seen carry on like this with your own eyes Hmmmm?

Aye! AyeI!!!
I az ony jus noticed; Ya cawed me a a...hole! I awta take afence ta vat... aw mabeee I wiwe take afence ta ya insted... a bit ov 4 b 4 fence post vat iz!!.........Naaah jus kiddin Very Happy

I have been in canberra close on 30 years now after leaving the RAAF, stayed because the missus had a good job which she didn't want to leave.
It does seem that this place attracts a lot of dead heads from all around Australia...... you have to be a dead head to actually want to come here when there is the rest of Australia to choose from. Very Happy Suspect

Haa Haa.....It was more in reference to those a..holes who congregate in that funny building on the hill with the roadway moat around it.... Now THAT is a bloody frightening roundabout during Canberra peak hour Shocked

Hello members,
The Government has gone into damage control, we now need to follow up with the attached letter to the Minister at the bottom of attached link.

United effort has swayed Government from their foolhardy attempt to remove bull bars.
