The mining boom and our mining futures

Was liking to know when the mining boom took place.
I think mineing has been the bed rock of the Australain economy ever since the heady day of the gold rush in the 1850s.
But in modern times when was this most touted mining boom happened.
I feel it was around the same time of the avaiation and travel boom of the early 90s
And kind of ended under the now labor federal government.
I think there has to be another one around the corner.
We just can not let renewables take over it will be a disaster.
Mineing has the runs on the board and economy ticks when its up and running same goes with gas and coal.
So does anyone know more on the mine boom and the future of it.
