Petitions to Stop the creation of any new national parks (VIC)
There has been much prior effort and work by members of this forum, PMAV, BUGU, and other groups over the years to maintain and protect access to the bush.
The petitions below request that the Legislative Assembly (#202424) and Legislative Council (#554) call on the Government to not create any new nationals parks and keep state forests open to public access and traditional activities.
You have until the 8th of August to add your (ongoing) support, not much time left. The Legislative Council petition (#554) is currently only a handful of signatures shy of 16,000 making it the most signed of the currently listed petitions. The LA petition is second at just over 9,000 signatures.
It takes 2 minutes to complete (must have a Victorian address to sign petition).

Legislative Assembly (#202424) LINK: https://www.parliament.vic.gov.au/get-involved/petitions/national-park-creation-in-central-highlands-and-gippsland-regions/
Sticky topic until petition closes perhaps....

47 people have viewed this post but no-one has responded that there is no link or directions to get to the petitions. Maybe that is why there are so few signatures.

Thanks Axtyr.
100% spot on, I forgot to add the links yesterday and I only realised this morning. Apologies for the that.
One of the petitions just toggled past the 16,000 mark overnight which is good news, make sure both Legislative Assembly (#202424) and Legislative Council (#554) are signed.

It appears these petitions are only allowing Vic residents to sign..... Is this correct?

Re: Petitions to Stop the creation of any new national parks (VIC)
Some positive signs that the Victorian Government sans dictator-Dan are softening on the policy to turn entire forests into national parks.
Can't take anything for granted however, and the work by dedicated folks to maintain the awareness and pressure on bureaucrats/VEAC/ministers has helped and especially the petitions which attracted a sizeable response. I was at the Melbourne 4x4 Show last Friday and many of the stalls from various clubs (even one dedicated to the issue) were still collecting signatures with many folk lined up.
