Why are the bees in our yard ignoring pollen collection and are only collecting nectar.
  Flowers just a few mtr away from where the bees are working have buckets of pollen but zero bees?
   Look Ma no pollen!

I think bees need a drink every now and then.
Bee keepers leaving hives in the bush sometimes put out 44 gal drums of water just to keep them hydrated.
So maybe nectar today and pollen tomorrow?
Any bee experts around?
