Newbie looking for helping hand Horsham
Hi everyone, great forum, I've learnt a heap already.
I am the newest of newbies looking to get in to the gold
I live south of Melbourne, so there doesn't appear to be much around here, but my wife's family are in Horsham, where we are planning to stay over Xmas. My plans were to hire a detector around Stawell for a few days and have a look around the area.
I've looked at the online maps, and done as much reading as I can, but really don't know the basics yet. I was wondering if anyone around this area, or within a couple hundred k's would be willing to have me tag along to learn the ropes for a few hours on one of their outings? I hope this question isn't frowned upon in fear of giving away secrets?
Or does anyone know of any worthwhile tours run in these areas that are running?
Anyway, thanks for all the info so far.
All the best,
Anthony.

G'day Anthony, Welcome, there are tours that operate within the triangle.....When you are heading up this way contact me via the PM and I will be more than happy to head out around the Stawell area, or any other area for that matter!!
No secrets to give away mate, wealth is knowledge and after all we are only chasing gold.

Re: Newbie looking for helping hand Horsham
Hi Guys, Thanks for the warm welcome. We will be in Horsham from the 26th till about the 31st, so it's a bit of a small window. But I've got half of January off work, so I can make a day (or two) trips if you guys are heading out.
Anyone know where to hire equipment in the area?
Thanks,
Anthony.

Anthony, There is a place in Horsham that hires detectors (Wimmera outdoors)
If those dates are available for me we will head out for sure! I know a few guys that would be keen for an outing, that is the best way to learn, everyone has a little tip of thier own.
Stoppsy, Glad he called in on you, I was going to head out with him, but did night shift last night and should be in bed now. Because I'm contracting to the mine I never know what shifts I'm doing with much notice.
Cheers
Edit: Just checked dates and that falls within a club outing, unless I have shifts I will not be going with club. Will have to play it by ear closer to the date.

My wife just told me about "Garry Jelly on the telly" or something along those lines, looks like that will be where I go. Looking forward to it.

G'day Anthony, I was only thinking about this about 2 nights ago
As luck would have it, Sunday and or Monday would suit perfect.
Hopefully it suits fishberley, sparrowfart and delapan as well.
Cheers
