2 pieces on a nice day.
G'day all.
3 of us ventured out yesterday to our usual spot. Moredeep got one piece, Wayne found nothing and I finished up with 2 pieces. It was a warm day but the breeze made it very pleasant.
My first piece weighed in at 0.3 gram and the second one 0.16 gram.
After finding the second piece I got an excellent signal a metre away. I cleared the leaf litter off the top and it was still good. Even after scraping away the looser soil and exposing the very hard clay the signal was still great. With only the hard clay left I was getting excited about another piece of gold. I marked the 4 sides where the signal was loudest and had a square about 300mm. With the first attack with the pick I took out about 2 inches of clay off one side of the square and the signal was still there but not as loud anymore. Needless to say the next dig and it was gone. I couldn't believe how such a loud and positive signal could just disappear. I even showed my wife the video. It wasn't a broad mineralisation signal, it was a definite "dig me" signal. I hate that.
Anyway, good luck out there, regards Axtyr.
