10 more pieces and a bug.

G'day everyone.

It was a nice day out yesterday especially with the cooler conditions despite the occasional drizzle.
I managed to pick up another 10 small pieces and get a photo of a cicada that fell out of a shrub and stayed on the ground long enough to have his picture taken.

The pieces weighed in at: 0.09 gram, 0.61 gram, 0.19 gram, 0.10 gram, 0.06 gram, 0.08 gram, 0.22 gram, 0.12 gram, 0.11 gram and 0.08 gram.


The third piece had 2 bits of gold inside at either end of the rock. The larger rock also had a very tiny spot showing through the back but after I crushed it that's all it was, just a speck.

I don't know what the cicada weighed. It is alive. I've never seen a black cicada before.

Good strike rate to get 2017 stated axtyr. Very good photo of the cicada aswell, would have been a good specimen to jar up if lifeless,but good to hear otherwise

Off to a flying start.
I like the specimen, and the photo of the cicada's great too. My son found a cicada nymph the other week and he put in on a tree.
A couple of minutes later.
Viola!!!
Although it's a bit out of focus.
