Hi everyone,
A couple of weeks ago my Daughter and Grandkids came up for a visit so we took them out to the Hill end area and shared a bit of history with them. They loved it Very Happy

Although there was no detecting done, we all had fun and the mines in the photographs have safety cages around them so everyone was safe.
Cheers.

This is the remains of an old miners hut near Hargraves, its one of a few remaining examples that you can get to easily. Unfortunately slowly all the old relics and buildings are disappearing.

Hi All,

Went out for a couple of hours detecting today, no Gold but I did find this Brooch. It appears to have a Ruby in the centre but is
missing some of its other stones. It was down around 40cm and was quite a loud target.

Cheers,
Oldfella

A nice piece of history which you rarely find these days. Well done.

Judging by the scratches on that "ruby", it's more than likely glass, but still a nice historic find.
