Hi everyone,
A couple of weeks ago my Daughter and Grandkids came up for a visit so we took them out to the Hill end area and shared a bit of history with them. They loved it







Although there was no detecting done, we all had fun and the mines in the photographs have safety cages around them so everyone was safe.

Good onya M8 , i think it's important the yogin's  get to see history , i think half the fun of all this is exploring  these old sites , gosh the hard work they put into all of it .

Here are a few photo's of the Hill End quartz roasting pits.

This is the remains of an old miners hut near Hargraves, its one of a few remaining examples that you can get to easily. Unfortunately slowly all the old relics and buildings are disappearing.

Nice write up & pictures of gold working sites there Oldfella. Good to see/hear, the whole family sharing in the experience as well.
