 CS4PI International Empty CS4PI International

Post  adrian ss Tue May 24, 2022 5:36 pm

Used to have a CS4PI many years ago. Had an opportunity to get another more recent model last week just to see if there had been any improvements.
     Short answer is no.
The detector is designed for salt beach work, used anywhere else it can be very noisy from iron mineralization. and it is sensitive to EMI big time.
Fiddling with the pulse per sec and sensitivity can help reduce EMI but it is not very effective and can cause significant loss of depth and sensitivity.
At the beach the detector is capable of very good depth on Aussie coins, gold and sil rings but away from the beach iron minerals reduce detection depth by causing too much false response noise.
Any of the Vanquish and EQ range of detectors will outperform the CS4PI at the beach.

Detector is black, coil is round. Don't know what year it was made but it appears unused.

OOPS! My mistake. Not Fisher.
Is C Scope.

Does not respond to these gold items.
The large chain is 22g 9K.
Response to platinum is weak.

 CS4PI International Rscn4119

I am not knocking it totally. The machine is solid and well made. It does  go deep on coins and some sil and gold rings depending on the sensitivity setting being in the Green sector at setting 3 and it is very easy to use, but mainly for salt water beach metal detecting.

Just got back from a Batemans Bay beach run with the CS4PI.
It performed well as in, it was nice and stable and can go from the dry sand into the water without the need for adjustment. Simple to use and is light weight.
Targets were few and far between but plenty of tent pegs. Coil does not like being bumped
If you get hold of one of these tectas then you should do ok, just don't expect to find very many gold chains.
As it was I ran out of steam and came home early.. Must be getting old. Sad Rolling Eyes

Did another run to Batemans bay yesterday and although the pickings were low , my energy levels were much higher than the previous trip. Amazing what a few endone for breakfast can do. Very Happy Too bad my Doc won't prescribe me any aye...Don't know why they bother making them. Rolling Eyes
Found a couple of two dollar coins and a toy tipper truck....Yaaaaaaay.
Some major EMI cranked up (caused a slow pulsing tone) not long after starting my detecting but was much weaker further along the beach.
The CS4 performed well and had no problems with the salt water. Some target depths were easily in the 12 to 14 inch range (mainly small ferrous rubbish wire and hooks). Did notice a couple of other detectorists on the beach, one detecting and the other doing the digging.... A good  plan. Very Happy
