"Flurona" co-infection increases the risk of severe illness and death
Worse outcomes for patients infected with COVID-19 and influenza highlight the importance of vaccination against both diseases.
A study published in The Lancet found that those with COVID-19 and flu were four times more likely to require breathing support and 2.4 times more likely to die – highlighting the importance of vaccination against both diseases, and the need to test patients for them upon admission to hospital.
Study co-author Prof Calum Semple at the University of Liverpool, UK said: “We were surprised that the risk of death more than doubled when people were infected by both flu and COVID-19 viruses. It is now very important that people get fully vaccinated and boosted against both viruses, and not leave it until it is too late.”

The mind boggles with the crap they come up with.

Flurona and twindemic.

I can't wait until we have a dodecademic and what will be the mixture of flu, covid and hemorrhoids?

If everyone had been incentivated and motivised to get the vaccination in the first place life would be so different. LOL.

Regards Axtyr.

Are we to be scared of a single case of Flurona? Not even a real disease but a media construct to sensationalise an unfortunate vulnerable and unprotected person being coinfected with multiple diseases. The worst (mortality rate) of Covid is over due to a less severe Omicron strain, vaccination and better post infection treatments. No need for sensational media constructs to further scare us.
Time for us to do what we have always done, take personal responsibility for our own health protection, and get on with our lives.
For us that is getting back in the caravan travelling and hoping to catch up with old prospecting friends.

G'day gents

Although each & every one of us, has the right to perceive things as they wish to perceive them, this is but just another case study, of what 2 virus's combined together, could possibly lead to. Just another thing to be aware of, nothing more nothing less.
I think hawkear summed it up best here. After 2 years of covid-19 going around, one would think it be time for all people, to take responsibility of ones own health protection & get on with our lives.
When it comes to actual facts/figures presented by all or any media in general, well, they do have a special knack, of making a mountain out of a mole hill at times. Laughing
All anyone of us can do here, is weigh things up as best we can, whilst at the same time, try to keep things within perspective.
