Gday, newbie here
G,day, have not long started prospecting, have a small river sluice and pans, getting small amounts of gold. I bought a minelab equinox 800, still in the learning stage of using it, haven’t found any gold yet, lots of old cartridges, bullets, shot gun caps and shot, bottle tops, old cans and ring pulls, an 1853 penny, about $13 in various coinage and my best find, two 1946 silver florins

Re: Gday, newbie here
G'day Christo, welcome to the forum.
Sluicing for & panning off small amounts of gold is always a welcoming sight & the Equinox 800 although not specifically designed for the detection of gold nuggets, seems to be working well on or over everything else found, so only a matter of time before falling onto some size, form or amount of colour.
Research & perseverance are the key to prospecting for & lobbing onto gold, as well as avoiding areas that have been well flogged to death, or gone over.
Best of luck out there Christo
