Old Miners Right.
Found this in with an old Geiger Counter that I purchased quite a few years ago now.
5 shillings for a one year Miners Right..Wonder what that would equate to today?
Does it ring any bells with anybody?
i have tried to find out about this bloke years ago but without success.
The Counter still works after some minor repairs and locating batteries that would fit...remember those old radio batteries from the valve radio days.

Re: Old Miners Right.
Can't find my first "Miner's right" it was issued by the "Clerk of courts" in my birth town by "Mr Hargraves" not "Edward Hammond Hargraves". As a matter of fact the first detector that we used at Wedderburn Vic was a Whites Coinmaster 5000 that was owned by Issuer's Father. Coincidences are funny some times.

That is a bargain Pete, although I must say I'm more than happy to pay $2.50 a year for the privilege to hunt for the yellow ointment

Re: Old Miners Right.
As per the old miners right of 1955. The 5 shillings would equate to approx 9 dollars today.

Don't really care Adrian, WA gave out these lifelong Miners rights for the princely cost of 50 cents in 1980, haven't wasted a second on what or if it may have cost today.
Re: Old Miners Right.
Neither have I. It was just a curiosity thing...I think I payed 25 dollars for mine.
