hi steve@lea any one going to nz should have a look at at this site on google otogo goldfieds arrow town macetown gabriels gully bendigo all these places in central otago they stretch cromwell to wanka and through to the west coast of the south island all big gold producing areas big open cut mine at atown called nasby if you want explore this area find out wheather you can detect and what areas better throw in fly @fishing rod best times august till february accomodation very high all central otogo goldfields are high country and plenty of good rivers ie panning for gold no snakes no ticks for more info contact dept of lands @survey dunedin and no i donot work for dept another area well looking into to is queenstown you can fly direct there from sydney town 2.5 hr cheers malcolm
