Vortex Over New South Wales
Nice little Vortex over NSW that extends from ground level up to an altitude of approx 15,000 mtr.
Would look like a gigantic tornado if it was naked eye visible.
Velocity ranging from 20 kph at ground level to around 130 kph at 12000 mtr
High altitude aircraft may notice this a bit Aye?

Adrian, Would this explain the coldest NSW day since 1984?
We had some welcome rain in Perth Wednesday but were spared any wind damage.
Thought the climate change doom and gloom so called expert would have been all over this?

This is just an example of an extreme weather event which happens from time to time. Extreme weather events will become more common with global warming.Global warming will also make some places much colder with more severe winters due to changes in ocean circulation and the slowing of ocean currents like the warm gulf stream , a phenomenon which is already being observed.

That vortex extended from at least 12,000 mtr to ground level so I reckon yes it has had a large influence on the weather over Vic and N S W lately.
That Ventusky interactive map is very useful & fun to play with.

Homogenization is a scientifically/statistically accepted method. I doubt that it will effect an individual daily temperature.
