ML FT16000
Has anybody here used a ML FT16000 at the beach?....Just curious as they run At approx 7khz which I thought might sort of work ok over the dry sand. That plus the fast ground tracking ability??
I had one many moons ago but it never worked correctly (Second Hand) and I didn't bother getting it fixed. Sold it to a chap who got it going ok.

Re: ML FT16000
A little bit later:
Just finished reading the operators manual for this detector and it gives some great info on how to recognise and test for pos/neg hot rock signals, clay domes, charcoal and general ground noise. Good info for beginners and others alike.. How many of us still get conned by hot rocks n ground noise. fair enough it applies to mainly VLF tectas but is still handy info even if you reckon you know it all.

Hmmmmm? Just discovered that if I use Fire Fox I can access all of the Emoticons but when using Chrome I have access to the first page only. ??

Re: ML FT16000
Yes the FT16000 was a great detector in its day in the goldfields, ended up using it as a pin pointer when I had the 2k, 2100 and the 22 had the electronics box in the ML holder on the belt and the coil with its small shaft in a hammer holder also on the belt. Only used Coin machines on the beach.

Re: ML FT16000
Found this info here.

An FT16000 sold for 305 dollars on Ebay this morning.....Not to me.
The machine is still very capable of finding gold. Simply being old does not make it useless
