I'll probably start crying as soon as I start throwing dirt into it. But at the end of the day that is what a trailer is designed for. I think the first haul will be sand that I need for a base of a 15,000 Lt. water tank.

Hey Bill -- Noce job!! And I love the hobbit house as well! So what did you do with it? I've got an old one and wondered about the cost/benefit analysis against buying a new one. cheers.

Hi mate. I first stripped of the wheels, axle and springs. Then removed the jockey wheel and took the tyers of the rims. I then took the whole lot down to Ballarat and got it sandblasted. That cost $150 including an undercoat primer. I then sprayed the whole body of the trailer top & bottom. Including the springs, axle, rims and jockey wheel. Replaced all the wheel bearing, spring bushes, wiring & lights. All up it cost between $450 to $500.

You should build them. Looks better than some new trailers out there...
