Bob Stones Empty Bob Stones

Post  stoppsy Tue Mar 10, 2020 2:43 pm

Hey guys, on the weekend at the jamboree Bob Stones was camped there with a few mates. Bob was a member of this forum and was one of the original people who attended the Gold Bash. This was when I first met Bob. Over the years we would have our get togethers at the bash and other events.. but sadly on Monday he passed away. He was still camped at the jamboree but with some good mates of ours. These guys tried their hardest to revive him until the medics got there. After awhile the medics had let him go. I was out detecting and got that horrid phone call from my wife about what happen. I was going to go over to say see ya to them all, but because I said I was going detecting that’s what I done. I’m still up in the air on this news

R.I.P
Bob

Cheers

Sad news indeed Stoppsy, had a beer or two with Bob at most Bash's, Bob the builder was a good bloke, far to young to die. Chin up mate, Bruce
RIP Bob

Terrible news Stoppsy, the Darkside crew were in shock and hopefully there will be a tribute to Bob at next years event. Condolences to Bob's family and close mates. Massive loss to our close knit detecting community - RIP Bob.

I'm sitting here right now gobsmacked after reading the sad news about Bob. Yes I too met him on more than one occasion at the bash. Real nice guy. I use to always called him "Bob The Builder" He will be sadly missed. R.I.P mate and I hope you find that golden nugget in the sky

We are looking at making a plaque and putting at the camp. We may make one for the gold bash camp as well.

His funeral is held on Saturday 21st  at 11am Tawonga Park. A heap of us are travelling up friday to say Our goodbyes to Old Ball Bag Bob. We will take our detectors and hold them for grand of honour for him. I’ll be placing a bit of gold with him to hold.. God I’m going miss him..

There will be always a seat there for him around the campfire
He will always be the talk around the camp
I know when we’re out hunting for gold or for relics, he’ll be watching over us
If we dig that life changing target, I know he’ll be celebrating that find with us
If I find that life changing nugget, it’s going to be called
The Old Ball Bag Bob Nugget

Thanks guys

Cheers
