Australia Day
Does anybody remember Burke & Wills, Gregory Blaxland, William Lawson and William Charles Wentworth, Captain Charles Napier Sturt, John Flynn. Edward John Eyre,
Early trailblazers such as Captain Cook, Burke and Wills, Emily Creaghe and Bennelong; modern pioneers such as Mawson and Kingsford Smith; and contemporary record-breakers like Dick Smith, Tim Jarvis, Andy Thomas and Jessica Watson. Whether they crossed oceans, tackled jungles, traversed mountains, braved the poles or went to space, our nation’s greatest explorers helped forge the intrepid Australian spirit.
Will anybody remember these people on Australia Day/ How many of our children have even heard of them?
The days of the true Aussie is rapidly fading into obscurity.

Re: Australia Day
Australia Day, 26th January, may we stand forever proud, we are not responsible for our forefathers doings.
Do other countries, which were settled/invaded, whose beginnings began thousands of years ago wish to change important dates? In one word, NO!
Over 60,000 Australians lost their lives in WW1 alone, 3 times that figure were injured, not one was killed or injured fighting on our shores.
Australians must stand strong and proud and united and defend Australia Day, 26th January.

Re: Australia Day
Hope everybody is having a great day with lots of beers n cheers.
PS.
If Captain Cook had not landed in Australia none of us would exist today. On the other hand it is a fair bet that the Dutch portugese, Spanish, Chinese or maybe even the Egyptians would be here instead and there would be a very different Australia day aye!
