GPX5000 external speaker impedance
Hello, does anyone know the correct impedance for a directly connected external speaker on the new 5000?
I have just tried an 8 ohm 1.5W unit and it appears to work OK
Cheers

Re: GPX5000 external speaker impedance
The one that you can buy from the detector shop to suit is the same as this. Its a GME SPK07 8 Ohm nominal 2 watts maximum 3 watts extension speaker, but you will need to change the jack from a 3.5mm to a 6.5mm to go into the battery.
You can buy one from a communitations type shop and glue the clip on and change the plug yourself, or buy the finished one from a detector shop like the one in the pic.

this is what the finished one looks like from the detector shop.

aftermarket battery setup
What if you use an after market battery with no amp? What would the impedance have to be on a boosted speaker?

Re: GPX5000 external speaker impedance
This speaker is what we have all been using for years with the BNZ booster
Yes the speaker will plug straight into your ML boosted battery and should you go for an after-market battery you will need to get a BNZ unit of JP or another booster that has its own power source
I dont think if you just used the audio out directly from the GPX (before the Battery) that the GPX will have the power to run it

B&Z AMP
Can someone post a link to a site where I can look at/buy a "B&Z"amp?
