Re: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Nice results for the 5 days there Dave. The 12” X coil is proving to be a very good coil for you. Thanks for sharing yours & Veronica’s finds and congrats to you both.
Cheers.

Re: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hi are we able to purchase these 12" coils. I detect full time as a job here in Mongolia with a gpz7000 for 7 months a year and do very very well but the 12" coil would be perfect for the smaller areas.
Thanks
Thanks

Nice going dave. Is that ground that you detected last year or new ground?

Re: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
No point in adding my bit on here Dave, for I know you'll surpass all expectations during this years trip, using the X-Coils on the mighty GPZ 7000.
He's some news that might interest X-Coil users. I managed to get in a couple of hrs detecting yesterday, using the small 10X9 inch coil over moist/wet saturated ground, sliding the coil over wet leaves/grass with hardly a murmur of coil noise disturbance. Unfortunately only one 0.14gm bit of colour turned up, with a dozen or so quail load (9 shot) bits of lead dug up, being that small in size, I struggled to locate. Mind you the whole purpose of this exercise, was only intended to see how the X-Coils handle wet ground conditions, over the most flogged bit of ground one could ever encounter & I can tell you, once again they've come up trumps.
Something else I wish to add on here, there's been some talk of touch sensitivity issues, with these new lineup of aftermarket X-Coils? I for one hunt in/over some of the most challenging ground conditions one could ever encounter (meaning over/on highly mineralized or variably changing highly mineralized soils) & have experienced no such ground/touch sensitivity issues. They ground balance well & are neither touch sensitive or bump sensitive. Besides, If there's ground balance or touch sensitivity issues straight from the word go, or problems arising from such somewhere down the track, it would be wise/logical to say, back to the coil manufacturer's they go for repair or replacement. (that's what coil warranties are for).
On another note, I wish to mention as I'v already stated in my 10x9 inch X-Coil write up, all apart from the smallest 10x9 inch X-Coil I use/own, ground balance well over the ferrite. The 10x9 due to its incredible sensitivity, can all but touch the ferrite when ground balancing over the ferrite, but should or will ground balance, an inch or so above the ferrite. In saying this, know that it does little towards the 10x9 inch coils working characteristics/performance, over in-ground positive targets laying in mineralized or highly mineralized soil.
The ground I search for gold on/over, Normal/General on the GPZ with either standard 14x13 inch coil or 19 inch, simply cannot be used successfully, due to excessive ground noise falsing, created by the surrounding ground minerals. All my gold find results, have come from being in the "General/Difficult modes, with sensitivity set about half way. Not saying that General/Normal can't be used, but finding quiet enough ground to use them on/over, is the hard part here in Vic.
Now how good do these X-coils work in/over such mineralized ground conditions? Well I for one (through personal use) can confirm, the same as what the Minelab range of GPZ coils perform, if not better. I know own 3 of these new lineup range of aftermarket GPZ X-Coils, more money than sense one can say, but knowing what they're capable of, over that of the standard GPZ 7000 coil/s is a feeling only X-Coil users can understand.
Cheers Kon.

Re: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Another lot of great finds there Dave congrats to you both again. Thanks again for sharing your finds also.
Thanks Dave for setting me up with the 12”-X coil, which I am very happy with. As we have been going over our old patches and finding more gold on them. The 12”-X coil is lighter and I have found it very sensitive to small targets.
Here are my finds so far with the 12”-X coil.
The total weight is 8.86 grms
Cheers.
Mike.

Tibbuburra gold with X Coil
Well must say again a very big thank you to dave and also stan for being instramental in bringing the X Coils to australia.
Yesterday we went out for a coupe hours with the 18" x coil and found 3 flypoops, about 1 to 2" deep. But rocks in area we were at did not really suit coil. We were hoping for something bigger.
We rang dave last night and chatted to him about setting ect so I knew I would be using similar to dave.
When we got out there we played with setting and found that I could run in normal which I have never done before.
Today we went to different area on common again and found a gridded in both directions with some holes showing somebody did ok.we had a friend with as well with 7000 and 14" coil so we could do some comparisons. I started to follow the chain marks and bang a signal quick smart. To check before scraping we ran the 14" minelab coil over target and mrs travelergolds 2300 over as well but no signal. We dug signal and out popped a tidler at about 4". I detected a few more signals and marked them then tried 14" and 2300 over them making adjustments to see if we could get any sort of signal at all but to no avail.
Every signal that I marked showed another tiddler.
The previous person got what he could with whatever machine he had.
For a few hrs detecting I dug 21 nuglets on that spot before health told me to go back to van and rest. They were all between 3" to 5" deep. Very impressive indeed.
Am I happy with the X Coils, hell yes
I put a biro there so you can see size for those that have not detected tibuburra
