Get the most out of your caravan water tanks.
Simple addition using aluminium tube gets every last drop out of the tanks. I used a hacksaw cut to mark the outside top of the fitting to ensure the curved tube is facing down when fitting is tightened into tank. (You can see horizontal cut on left of top picture.)
(Added araldite to secure tube to fitting.)

Top idea. Just need to work out how much lower the tank is to the bung fitting.

I cut the curved section a little longer, and then cut a little at a time until the fitting was parallel with the threaded hole. Roughly 25mm of extra water, never did work out the volume from the two 80 litre tanks?
Before this season I'll unscrew one of fittings and drain the tank then refit and turn the pump on to see how much extra water is pumped out.

My tip is to get one of those cheap inline filters from Bunnings . They use them for garden irrigation . I put one in just under the hand pump .

Miner Mike,
This set up is using a standard 12V pump which has a filter, we also have an inline filter at the sink to filter drinking water.
Jackie,
Works a treat we get approx 7 litres extra from each tank, very handy when free camping remote from town supplies.
