Re: evolution v elite
Gidday Yellowmellow,my only choice of weapon is the 14 inch coiltek elite,it has found a lot of gold for me over the past few years.
I did have a few issues early on with the lead making noises but much to the credit of coiltek they replaced the coil with out question.
I'm pinging .1gmers [that's point one] down a couple of inches and I'm amazed each time I get one at that depth.
I just got back from a couple of hours detecting and got four tiddlers for a total of .7gms.
In saying all that I do run my 5000 in boost with my speaker up full bore,I also detect basically with the coil on the ground.
The 14 inch elite is a bit weighty compared to my previous spoked nugget finder which light and very good.
The other factor is that trying to pin point with this coil is difficult, not sure what the evolution coil is like? I just got a large flat scoop to solve that problem.
Hope that helps you a bit?

Tim,
You are expecting too much from the members here.
I suggest you buy one of each, try them out over typical goldfields ground on some buried targets, then sell the one you don't like.

Re: evolution v elite
Tim, stick with what you have, you could own every coil and do no better.
Many people have offered help in the past with your questions.
You have found a few bits that you have posted so you are doing something right.
First you need to be on ground where there is gold, then you need to swing your coil over gold. Then the next step is understanding how your machine is talking to you and understand the various noises.
We have walked along side a prospector to help him and we heard various signals but he never heard one of them. Was either deaf, tone deaf or could not grasp what he was hearing. On your 4500 you can adjust the tone so if you have hearing issues then changing the tone up or down will help some, not that i am saying you have those issues.
Not every body finds gold on every outing.
Go out and have a swing when it cools down, low and slow and you might ping your first 2019 nugget. Good luck.

Re: evolution v elite
Sound advice given to you by the members on here Tim. Heed their advice, less they get bored of you asking the same questions over & over again.
Have a little more faith in your equipment. Detectors/coils don't find gold on their own. It's the detector operator who puts in the hard yards, in way of seeking/searching/learning, that ends up finding gold.
Cheers Kon.

G’day Tim,
You could when the weather cools off and your next up Maryborough way. You could call into Coiltek and ask the boys if they have a loan coil you could borrow for a day. Just a thought Tim.
Cheers.
