Victoria Reserves Empty Victoria Reserves

Post  PeterInSa Mon Nov 12, 2018 7:26 pm

Since I started detecting in Vic in the early 80's, I have notice in later years many reserves had sprung up in areas that I previously detected. These include from memory:
Flower Reserve
Bushland reserve
Historic Reserve
and and

I have taken as read that I cannot detect on these reserves, in some instances I think the local farmer did not want unknown detecting people near his property and so agitated with the appropriate authorities to get the area changed to a named reserve ( maybe I would do the same if the position was reversed)

Anyway does anybody have the facts from the Vic State forests/reserves re detecing on these various reserves.

Thanks

Peter

Go to the sticky at the top of the page & check out the Bush User Groups United, they should be able to tell you. Cheers

Hi PeterInSa, you can detect in some Reserves but not all . Your safest bet would be to try and track down your local Vic Parks Ranger or the local Rangers office where you want to got to first and ask them. Local areas have local rules.

Yes Jen , I found that as well, rang Vic Parks and we went thru their websites to find the page above and the operator suggested if the reserve is not on there is may be best to follow up with the local rangers office. For the Talbot/Marlborough/Dunolly/Tarnagullia/Avoca/Ararat areas, call Castelmaine on 8427038 or Halls Gap 84272058 these are the 2 offices for western vic.
