SA Broughton river gold Empty SA Broughton river gold

Post  Travelergold Sat Jul 28, 2018 6:45 pm

Years ago an old chap I worked with briefly told me about him panning for gold in the broughton river. Then a few years ago a different guy mentioned to me while talking about prospecting that he new guys that panned in the broughton river. Today while traveling home we spoke to a guy at red hill and he mentioned gold had been found in broughton river also. He would not elaborate futher though.
Does anybody on here know or had luck detecting there or even have info on rough whereabouts that this area might be? Cheers TG

The Broughton River runs through private farming lands and requires the land owners permission to get access to the river.

SA is a difficult place to pan or prospect for gold, hence we mostly travel interstate to do our detecting!

Also worth noting that you cannot sell the gold you find in SA only seek permission to keep it as a private mineral find or maybe donate it to the museum. Hopefully the other states in Oz don't follow SA's draconian laws!
