SECOND TRIP OUT
Hi just got back from fnq second trip found gold first trip only went for 5 days loved it . This trip back played up so cut it short bugga but looking forward to another trip later in the year to palmer and surounding areas . I have a question if someone could give me there thoughts . The station I was on which allows detecting gives everyone a mud map etc the owner who had pointed out to me that I was free to roam the whole property this was on my first trip when I went back for my second visit they had caretakers in place . They told me no different . My problem was I went through 2 gates to get to where I wanted to detect same as last time on my way back the gate had been padlocked ??? with very little water left and temp at 30c+ and being 10k from anyone it was a bit pissed off to say the least . I had to untie the fence to get out and re tie it as best as I could . the caretakers came to my camp and chest out started to tell me I shouldent have been there ? they new I had gone in ? but never bothered checking if I had come out , I said i was told by the owner that I could go there and said to them that they had not told me different which there reply was WELL WE ARE TELLING YOU KNOW they gould not have given a dam Im glad I have spent most of my life in the bush but if it had happened to someone who mite of panicked it might have been a different outcome . NO SAFETY AT ALL I also asked what number are they on in case of an emergency the reply was our radios dont work ???
well thats my beef I will never go there again

Re: SECOND TRIP OUT
Hey Mate,
Was this WC ? if so I would speak directly to the owner, either way what you have described is BLOODY dangerous actions by the caretaker !!!!! if they don't want people in an area then they need to put a sign up & ONLY lock a gate once they confirm everyone is safely back at camp.
Your experience made the difference here, could have been different outcome with some of the far less experienced people I have encountered in the bush.

Re: SECOND TRIP OUT
Flat Ck Station?, Sounds like a very nasty thing to do to a bloke, I certainly do not encourage or condone any interference with fences or any other property for that matter as I see it as more nails in the coffins of all prospectors, that said I am at a loss to see what else one could do, If it is Flat Ck you refer to, Peter Henry is one of the owners of that property, he is a very hospitable man from a long established grazing family and I can not see him being pleased with that sort of behavior, if he as you suggest told you to go where you please, I believe Peter to be a very reasonable man, I would suggest you contact him to clarify the matter one way or the other.
