gem and mineral clubs

hi all, just wondering if anyone knows of any clubs based around minerals and gems more so than gold??? any info whould be great, preffered in queensland but I'm not fussy,thanks in advance, joe

Just as kon61 said there are lots of Lapidary clubs around. We have one in Caloundra, Maroochydore, Nambour and I know there are several around Brisbane and further afield. The clubs all have a Gemfest type day once or more a year and these are worth attending just for conversation and to see all the amazing gems and fossils etc. They also have organised trips to areas that a person on their own may not be able to access.
