Clermont Qld gold finds
To kick this detecting season off I went to a gold mining lease opened to the public. First few larger nuggets (8.9 grams) found with GPX 5000 and 12" NF EVO coil. Bit the bullet and bought the GPZ 7000.

Great finds AnnieL someone else mentioned to me that a mining lease owner was opening his area for detecting down that way. All the best with the 7k. Cheers Dave.

Re: Clermont Qld gold finds
Mike & Jen, thanks for your comments and nice to see you back on the forum. To the other guys who posted, thanks for feedback.
Jonathan Porter and the town of Clermont have been agitating for more detecting areas in State Forests in Qld. He has posted on Facebook - Outback Prospector, I think, about it.
The GPZ is definately a new experience and whilst it is heavy I seem to manage ok. I see there is a new update out today too.
Cheers

Re: Clermont Qld gold finds
Very, very nice Annie. I thought some of the old timers on this forum said there was no more gold in Clermont?
PS. Although the Zed doesn't appear to you to be that heavy, because it's all new to you................. it bloody well is, and if your not using a hipstick then you will eventually start feeling its effects on you. Cheers, Harry

Re: Clermont Qld gold finds
G'day slimpickins. Thanks for your comments Harry. There still seems like there is gold here to be found. I also though there wasn't much left in Clermont but people are posting photos of good cold, and some quite large nuggets, being found on the GPA's.
Yes, I am using a hip stick and wouldn't be without it.
