Re: Lannecoorie Bash 2017
Lots of updates over the last couple of weeks:
Laanecoorie Lakeside Park has confirmed that the Park is fully booked (cabins and powered sites) with only unpowered sites left.
Who needs power anyway - as the Carisbrook Lions Club is catering for the weekend. Rise & Grind is also there again serving coffee!
Other accomodation outside the park:
• Camping in Laanecoorie near the bridge
• Dunolly is 15 minutes away
• Maryborough is 20 minutes away
Sponsors are increasing every day. Many are listed on the FB page (sorry to those not on FB - it reaches a big audience but the Forum will always be the original link). Not only items donated but also cash and gold. This has allowed getting a first aid company to be on-site throughout, for example, as well as improving the total contributed to Peter Mac. Items will go towards prizes for the token hunts, gold panning (huge troughs have been donated), the raffle and auction (now running on Saturday night).
Getting close!

Re: Lannecoorie Bash 2017
Hi to all fellow prospecters and forum members. I can't attend this years bash. I have been to every bash so far since the begining. Unfortunately my health has got a lot worse this year and i'm left with no other choice but to go into the Royal Melbourne Hospital for a bone marrow transplant. This will put me out of action for between 6 and 12 months. Hopefully i will be fit enough by next winter to go chasing nuggets again. On a more positive note i have found some nice gold in the triangle this year. I wish everyone involved in this years bash to have a great time, find some gold and raise heaps of money.Hoping to be back bigger and better next year. Cheers 57Grumpy (Doug).

Gee that's no good mate , I never thought of the bash but was wondering if I would see you at Talbot. I hope everything goes well and you are back doing what you love in the shortest time possible. Cheers Bruce

Sony to hear that Doug hope you get better soon mate and a speedy recoverygrumpy57 wrote:Hi to all fellow prospecters and forum members.

Bloody Hell mate, am I reading this right $32,603.59 is now going to Peter Mac. If it is. WELL DONE to everyone, specially to the sponsors for their support and to all the organizing committee. This has blown me away. We have now raised $96,332.33 for Peter Mac and Cancer Research. Over all the Bash has now donated $101,482.33 to charity in the time it has been going. It started in 2011 with only 35 people that raised on the day $650.00.
Well done again everyone !!!

Re: Lannecoorie Bash 2017
This is remarkable on so many levels, now running for several years and having more participants, loyal and generous sponsors that stick around, year on year best outcomes in terms of donations made, and a total in excess of $100,000 dollars given to Peter Mac and Cancer Research by this prospecting community as a whole... CONGRATULATIONS to everyone involved from the organisers, to the sponsors, to the participants and everyone that donated or purchased in whatever way they could to help push the 2017 and overall tally to yet another record. $100K to date.... wow
