Kneeling after knee replacement Empty Kneeling after knee replacement

Post  brimotimp Mon Feb 20, 2017 11:15 am

I am having my right knee replaced shortly. I am getting mixed messages from people about kneeling down(to dig a target). My surgeon says it is OK to kneel. My GP says I shouldn't and one or two other people say the same. I am sure there must be a few other people out there going detecting with artificial knees. What is your experience and recommendation?

Otherwise has anybody made a long handled scoop so I can pass stuff over the coil while still standing. I guess the long handle would have to be at a right angle to the scoop.

I notice that this has not been answered yet.
I just had a knee replacement approx 8 weeks ago and I have inadvertently put weight on my new knee cap by kneeling on the ground.
It is a sure way to get a knee infection coz yer knee cap is dead, well mine is anyway. Get an infection in an artificial knee and you could be in trouble for quite a while
very easy to cut or scratch it on something and not know you have done it.

So use some knee protectors.
