My next adventure...
Hey guys,
Newbie here so sorry if i ask silly questions and the same questions. I will use the search function as much as i can.
Im located in Perth WA and some of you may know me from alot of fishing sites but im best known for my photography publications in many mags.
I have always had a keen interest in gems, gold and while out fishing and photographing many remote places i have always had my eyes on the ground looking for "sparlkey" rocks . Up until now i havnt dug around anywhere but now i have my miners right and time of the weekends in heading Toodyay area to have a pan and fossick on crown land. I have got permission to pan a really good creek on private property too.
Anyone that can give me some help on anything cool to find in Toodyay area i will be very greatful and happy to recieve info through PM's and keep it hush.
Thanks guys and gals
Happy to share some of my outback photos with you all from around WA

Re: My next adventure...
Welcome to the forum Tailor marc. Awesome photos and don't be shy to post more. It's a beautiful part of the world.
I'm in Vic, so I have no knowledge of where you are allowed to prospect in the area you are looking at. Maybe Tengraph might help?
I did find this though.
http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/34578881
The area mentioned looks like this on Google earth if you type in these coordinates. 31 36'25.28"S 116 15'38.45"E
You'll notice the white sections near the strip. That would be the kaolin mentioned in the article.
http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/32503636
Obviously its not near the river and I'm not sure if there is any water local to the goldfield. But it might be worth getting a few buckets from gully and panning it at the river. There is also a camp site 1.3km west of the area as the crow flys.
Google is your friend
Cheers,
Lee.

There is also some type of mine at 31 34'28.58"S 116 16'58.23"E If its a gold mine. Down stream of the river just to north might be worth a look to. Just keep it legal.
Hope this helps and all the best of your hunt for the yella stuff

Thanks so much Lee,
I will cheak that location on Google earth as soon as i get home. I have searched trove and found alot of good locations but sadly most are on private property. The first place i contacted gave me the goahead ! Im 100% going to keep it legal as all it takes is one person to leave rubbish, holes or climb fences to stuff it for all of us. I have seen the same with fishing locations and this game is very much like fishing.
Just last weekend i went to the nice little location where gold has been found and noticed someone has used a dingo or something to take away some dirt. What do you recon? I cant think of any other reason a neat cutout like that would of been done....

Hi Marc, welcome to the forum. I'm the same "Piston Broke" (Peter) from Fishwrecked. Prospecting and Fishing both have that "Thrill of the chase" aspect to them.
PS I still have that "Indiana Teahouse" photo you gave me on my wall, it's amazing.

Re: My next adventure...
Marc, I hope it is not the case, but it is likely that there is much more "gold" in your photographs than you are likely find chasing the elusive gold metal.
I hope you find some though and I am sure that there are several people on the forum who would be more than a bit interested in what cameras lenses and processes, that you use to create such art.
