Re: WA EL Pending and Live
Thanks Peter will check it out, see how these go.
Hi All
There would be many that will be heading to the WA Goldfields and for those that use Ozi as the mapping software to get around I made up Current WA Exploration Licence as waypoints and track files, if you click on the waypoint you will get the owner of that Lease.
Will display like you see below
If you like you can Export them from Ozi to load into Google Earth
Here are the EL Live as Waypoints & Tracks for the Lease

WA EL AND PENDING
Thanks for replying. Yes that is how I want the map to look but with both pending and live leases as in the first picture you posted. Can't seem to get them in the one screen, not sure what to do. Thanks for your assistance.

Re: WA EL Pending and Live
Hi David,
Can't begin to tell you how good it is to see that data up there and after a couple of days of fumbling I have managed to load up the info successfully.
I wonder if you have by any chance you have the same files available to suit OziEx for pending ground, incorporating the current pending "P" lease applications as well as the E.
It would be great help to me if you could.

Re: WA EL Pending and Live
Thanks heaps for that David.
That is exactly what I was looking for.
I have successfully put the files into Ozi on my desktop, even changed the track file colour to blue.
Now all I have to do is determine whether I can (or how to) load the wpt and plt files into my Chinese 7" GPS. Clearly I need to get them on to the SD Card but no sure if to put in Map Folder or elsewhere.
Ahh!!!! What I would give for 1% of your talent and knowledge in relation to this stuff and prospecting generally.
Never mind, I am moving forward slowly thanks in no small part to your help.
Thanks again.

Re: WA EL Pending and Live
David, what maps do you suggest purchasing for use with Ozi, as I find the online reference stuff a bit confusing.
I only acquired one originally for up West Pilbara area (SF5009 Yanrey), as that was where I needed the base details to work and record tracks for where I was working, but clearly that is of no use for the WA goldfields.
So what should I source and from where and I guess not just for WA?
Thanks.

Put the wpt, trk file onto your GPS card
Click on Oziexplorer folder then click on the Data folder and paste them in there.
I can convert the waypoints into a POI File for your 7'' GPS and then you can use it as a search file and have it Nav you to the Lease

Re: WA EL Pending and Live
Thanks heaps David.
I never ceased to be gobsmacked by what is possible with this stuff.
The POI file sounds like a really useful inclusion for me. Just makes the whole process of getting there that much easier.
I will wait for you to do the conversion and load everything in one go.
I have a backup of my SD Card on my desktop and I can see the Data Folder you refer to. Would the POI File go into the Data Folder also or be just put onto the card as a separate file?
Hope you had a great day with your Z.

David
I have the Yanrey SF5009 Topo only.
The difference between the two is interesting as the Topo has more of the old roads, tracks and site info and I was able to compare it to the current status and although some of the old tracks were almost completely overgrown, it was interesting to see where they had been.
The geo naturally has lots of geographic info that is not on the Topo, but it suited my ability to import tracks from GPS and use for reports and details of what needed to be done where.
E.g. a small extract.

WA EL Pending Lease as a POI File for your 7" GPS

How to load the POI File onto your SD card
Step 1
First Download this file to somewere on your PC so you can find it then once you have downloaded it you will see a folder called userdata this is the folder that we are going to paste onto your SD card.
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B-WiYXamgm1DdGdBQ1dsM29jVXc&usp=sharing
Step 2
Take the SD card out of your GPS and put it in your card reader in your PC and then open the SD card so that you will see all the file's that are on it which should look like this (if you or i have more file's not to worry)
Click on igo8
Now click on 2 Content
Now go to the downloaded file and copy it (only the folder userdata) and then paste it in here
Now that you have done that you should see it like this
and that it finished
You can take the SD card out and put it back in the GPS. you now have the EL Pending Tenements as a POI File and you can now view them as the owners name or as the Tenement Number.
Have a play and see how you go.

Re: WA EL Pending and Live
Hi Dave,
Thanks again for taking the time to do this for me and before I forget congratulations again for the great result you put up in Members Finds section recently.
Copied the track file and waypoint file to the Ozi Data Folder, no problems there.
Downloaded from the link the two files in the userdata folder individually as it does not seem I can download folder and contents directly.
Unfortunately, my SD Card only has the Ozi and Launchpad folders on it, so the igo8 file is on a hard disk in the unit.
Never received a USB cable with the unit but luckily found one which fits. Plugged unit into computer and was able to browse the incorporated files.
Found where I need to paste the userdata folder and I assume that all I need to do is create a new folder (name it userdata) on the desktop, then incorporate the two files into it and then copy and paste accordingly.
Just thought I would check with you before I take the final step. Getting a bit excited here because I'm thinking I am on a winner.
