Got out to Hill End for another day last Saturday, had a look around at some new spots and did ok on one of them.
On the last location of the day, the good women tells me she found a bit of gold....im thinking she found a wee bit, didn't expect it to weigh in at 2.1grams. Go the Fors gold.

The RACER did ok on the earlier spots tried, unfortunately for me, both items of interest have now been misplaced...the buckle i found im sure will turn up when we return due to it falling out of our camp kitchen after cleaning it. I know where it is.....and looking forward to getting back out there to retrieve it.
The other item i found was an early 1800s Snuff Box complete with Tobacco.?? This has simply been misplaced....very disappointing let me tell you as i looked forward to opening it.
Sh!t happens.

On the bright side, i did get a bit of gold using the bosses borrowed SDC....first time user, and first target...nice little .2gramer.
I would have taken a pic of it, but im in a bad mood cause i lost both my finds. Evil or Very Mad

Lee, it wasn't me who got it mate...it was the other half. All good tho, she knows better than to do it again after the beating i gave her when we got home....not only that, she's not to touch my Nokta or Makro detectors ever again....and she's been banished from eating at the table.....iv taken away her toiletries and confiscated her left shoe. She is also sporting the imprint of my size 10 Mongrel boot on her @rse.

Having said that, it was found at 3" under power lines using the std 11x7" DD coil in factory preset BST mode.

Jen,
Nice little box. Is it heavy ????
It weights in at a healthy 16.1grams.

If i suddenly get sick and die...it was anthrax. If the dead start walking, it was a virus. If aliens arrive in the form of complex machinery, it was an autobot beacon.
I you hear swear words not yet spoken by mortal man ...i spilled the contents upon opening. If that happens....the sun will NOT rise the following day i sh!t you not!!.

Lee, it was in quiet ground, but under power lines and next to a phone line. Even the SDC had a little whinge about that location. Laughing

Good news tho.....went back to the spot we had a cuppa in to look for the lost buckle. And there it was....right on the ground where Rainbow dropped it fell out.
Got rained out for a while there yesty but managed a few finds in between the showers. The buckle on the left is the one i found/lost/found again....the one on the right was found yesty in our old spot which continues to give up the goods.
Found a few other items including current day coinage, not worthy of the pic tho......ok truth be told, i cant identify what they are/were, so best to leave them out.   T05

Whilst I've got a GPX5000 , I'm still in the search for a VLF ( something better than my xterra 70 & Eureka ) to work in high junk / hot ground ,also pin pointers , ( something better than my pro find ) just wondering what the latest opinion is out there   Question
