14 inch coiltek coil
Reading the posts there are references to a round 14 inch coil and also references to a round 14 inch pro----- is there a difference or are they one and the same ???? noyungan

Re: 14 inch coiltek coil
G'day noyungan,
The Pro coil will be a DD coil and the other maybe either a DD or a Mono coil. Hope this helps you noyungan. Do you have an idea of the age of these coils?? Are they the older Terracotta or are they the newer Goldstalker?? (Coiltek coils)
Cheers.
Mike.

Re: 14 inch coiltek coil
Hi Mike 54,, I got the 3000 second hand and I think the previous owner got it new and had 4 coils.. The 14" is labelled 350 mm DD and is browny red colour which I suppose makes it a terracotta and I assumed it to be a Coiltek.. Do coils deteriorate with age??? Can they be tested??? I do have a new 11 inch commander DD but I was toying getting a larger coil--- any opinions or recommodations ??? noyungan

Re: 14 inch coiltek coil
Hi noyungan, if you're going to stay with DDs (which your 14" is) probably the best all rounder is the 14" DD Elite, a cream coloured coil made by Coiltek, if you manage to get your hands on one. The 14"DD came out forst then they brought out the Pro version, identical but slightly less power thirsty and slightly more sensitive, then they brought out the Elite. All will find you big and deep gold, but they got that slightest bit more sensitive as they developed and with a DD, you need to get that extra sensitivity if you want to find the smaller ones too.
Deterioration with age (?), yep I suppose they all will deteriorate with age and it'll probably get touch sensitive or noisier or start to crack with age.

Re: 14 inch coiltek coil
The Coiltek elite is OK, but the Nugget Finder XP DD range were much better coils IMO.
You cant buy them new, but they pop up on ebay every now and again.
