How close can two or more 7000's work?
Does the new ZVT allow them to be close like VLF's?

G'day Robert,

The young bloke and I were about 20 mt apart yesterday before they started to play up with each other. Hope this helps.

Cheers.

Mike.

Hi Robert.
A mate and I were about 7 metres apart last weekend before his started getting cross talk from mine. He was about 5 metres away before mine was affected.
We hadn't done anything special so I'm guessing with some tuning they could be fairly close.
Cheers.

Hmmm... 20 metres and 7 metres.

I wonder if the settings dictate the distance?

G'day Robert,

The young Bloke and I were both running in the general Gold mode, difficult ground, but the little bit of back chatter was only a slight bit of back ground noise, which wasn't enough to stop any target signal coming through. Hope this makes sense.

Cheers.

Mike.

Close proximity? Empty How Close is to close

Post  Basada Wed Mar 25, 2015 10:34 pm

If you use the manual tune on the 7000 you can get closer than the 15m recommended. About 10m I would say is close enough. You don't want to be detecting in each others pockets.

Thanks folks.
I don't own-and never will own-a 7000. I merely posed the question to see if the new technology made any difference to workable distance between detectors as compared to PI units.

Close proximity? Empty Whats your conclusion?

Hi Robert, after reading the posts what's your conclusion. On another note sorry to hear you will never own a 7000. A lot of outlay but one hell of a good detector. That's life. Very Happy

Hi Basada,

Mate, I can't form any conclusions as I haven't been privvy to any 7000's operating.
As I wrote, I'm just interested to know if there was any difference or improvement in the separation distance.
I'm glad to hear you're doing well up there with your 7000. Keep up the good work.
